Taxi Cab Accidents and Injuries
The taxi cab has been around forever. In fact, taxi drivers of ancient Rome used a device mounted to the axle of their cart and it dropped tiny balls into a container as the axle would spin. At the end of the trip people paid based on how many balls were in the container. So the use a taxi as a form of public transportation has been around. It has a good side but there is also a down side too. That down side is when the taxi is involved in an accident.
We all know an accident can be simple or have life changing consequences. The injuries can be minor or as severe as a back and head injury. Even death can be the result of a bad accident in a taxi cab. Now the causes of a taxi accident are the same as with any other automobile. One of the biggest causes for an accident is driving too fast. Another cause is not following the driving rules as outlined by local governments. Reckless driving can also be a major factor involving a taxi cab. Here are some other causes of an accident:
- Inexperienced driver
- Driver does not read English well
- Driver has aggressive driving habits
- Bad brakes
- Faulty repairs, broken windshield
- Poorly maintained vehicle
- Missing seat belts
- Drug or Alcohol abuse

- Make a note of anything you notice wrong from the above list
- If your cell has a camera take pictures of everything
- Get names and contact information from all parties involved
- Call the police. Call your attorney
- Get the taxi company name and fleet number of the taxi
- Seek medical help if you and all that are injured.
