Fatal Accident Caused by Garbage Truck

Who is at fault? That is the question many are asking after a motorcycle accident involving a police officer in Montgomery, Alabama. Thankfully the officer on the motorcycle escaped with minor injuries and possibly a broken arm.

Evening traffic was running busily along South Court Street when witnesses say the officer riding the bike went around three vehicles before slamming into the door of an SUV. The motorcycle came to rest against a telephone pole while the officer was flung to the middle of the road. Witnessed feared they would find the worst as paramedics and police officers hurriedly came to check the motorcyclist out.

An investigation is pending to see who was at fault. It is very possible that the accident could have been avoided totally. Motorcycle accident statistics are very alarming. Many times these accidents could have been avoided if motorists take more time to be observant of motorcyclists.

Thankfully, this accident only left the victim with minor cuts and bruises; but many riders are not so fortunate. Negligence plays a hand in many accidents leaving behind victims who sustain many more traumatic injuries. Those drivers at fault should pay for their negligence. Laws are in place to hopefully prevent unnecessary injuries; but for those that occur, the law is available to help compensate for injuries, bills or other losses.
